»VOICES OF ANARCHISM«
2–5 April 2015, Ljubljana – Slovenia
In November we shared our idea to organize an international gathering of anarchist radios in Ljubljana with our comrades in wider anarchist network. We have received a positive feedback and some intiatives have already confirmed that they plan to actively take part. We announce therefore that the gathering will be held between 2-5 April 2015 in Ljubljana.
We believe that the gathering should be not only an opportunity to meet and exchange experiences but also to get our hands dirty and do some very practical work. In order for this to happen we need to do a lot of stuf before everybody converges to Ljubljana. And more crucially – we need active engagment from the rest of you!
We invite anarchist groups and individuals that are involved in radio activities (or are developing the initiatives for it) to engage in the meeting already during the preparations!

The forth presidential term of Alexander Lukashenko will expire in 2015.
In 21 years Lukashenko has managed to suppress almost all social struggles in the country, kill several political opponents in the 90s, and eradicate nearly all of the official opposition. Lukashenko didn't allow Belarusian society to transcend the limits of Soviet mentality.
Any complaint or criticism of the government are met with repression from the police or the KGB. Any attempts of organizing face with prosecution and hysteria from the state. The policy of the government can be described simply as follows: "Everything that cannot be controlled must be destroyed". At this moment Belarusian state is slowly but steadily getting to the extermination of any dissent or independent thinking.
With the elections planned for November this year the pressure on social movements is increasing. Authorities are afraid of the Ukrainian scenario occurring in Belarus and do everything to fight "extremists": all the people who are calling for the change of the current regime.
Over the last two months 10 people connected with the anarchist movement have been arrested. Eight of them got from 10 to 25 days of arrest based on made-up cases of resistance to the police and minor hooliganism. Two of them were already arrested before in December and spend 5 and 10 days in prison and later were fired from work. This time they were arrested a couple of days after they had found a new job. Activists connect repressions with several solidarity actions against police brutality at a New Year punk concert. Police raided the concert, made a list of all the participants and filmed them. Two people were arrested at the concert for distribution of "extremist" materials. After that all the people listed at the concert started receiving visits from the police who brought official notices demanding people to stop their "extremist" activity. There are also frequent threats in social networks coming from people obviously connected with the police.

Czechoslovak Anarchist Federation (CSAF) has transformed itself into Anarchist Federation (AF). We consider the change of our name as an opportunity for some positive changes in anarchist movement as well as possible new wave of interest in anarchist self-organizing. Members of CSAF decided to change the name of the organization during the regular congress held back in spring 2014.
The purpose of that change was to deprive of a national attribute in the name of our federation, which some members perceived negatively. Our organization will continue being a part of family of anarchist federations. Specifically, the federation which unites especially Czech and Slovak speaking anarchists. Furthermore, the leaving of national attribute relieves us from an uncomfortable position, when the original name was suggesting assumed existence of our organization in Slovakia, which is not true at the present time. Nevertheless, the new name leaves the opportunity for organizing in Slovakia of course still open.
In connection with the change of our name, we launched a new website www.afed.cz on January 1.
We are also trying to initiate discussion within the anarchist movement about its needs, goals and limits, on the occasion of our transformation.
